PatientVille exhibit

The PatientVille exhibit, providedby Healthcare DENMARK, offers a unique opportunity for participants to see first-hand how integrated care supported by digital health can be implemented. PatientVille is a living simulation that shows how digital health supports coherence in treatment for individuals with chronic conditions as they move through the health system. The exhibit includes a demonstration of the different environments in which digital health services are delivered, and illustrates their use in the prehospital sector (ambulance), the hospital, the municipality, the general practice and the patient's own home. The PatientVille exhibit will be delivered throughout the first and second days of the Symposium in sessions lasting approximately 30 minutes. It will be presented in English and Russian at specific times as indicated in the programme. Virtual Reality exhibit

The Virtual Reality exhibit showcases how the public sector is leveraging the possibilities of this cutting-edge technology through exciting collaborations.

The exhibit gives participants the opportunity to try virtual reality services and to learn from public-sector representatives who played a role in initiating and incorporating this technology into innovative practice. The goal of the exhibit is to stimulate deeper, more meaningful understanding of the possibilities that virtual reality can offer in the public sector.

Participants can experience how 6 hospitals in the Nordic region use a program designed specifically for hospital situations to distract children from procedural pain so they can lie calmly while a physician or nurse takes a blood sample or administers an intravenous injection. A nurse from the Paediatric Pain Management Unit at Rigshospitalet (the general hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark) will be available from 08:30 to 10:00 to answer questions on this effective solution for pain distraction.

The exhibit also includes an innovative demonstration of how virtual reality is used in psychology as a therapeutic tool for social anxiety. Two psychologists from the Psychiatric Research Unit Mental Health Centre Copenhagen will be available from 08:30 to 15:45 to answer questions on this accessible way of delivering treatment.

The providers of the exhibit will be speaking and answering questions in English.

About the conference:

The aim of the Symposium is to engage Member States, partners and key thought leaders in a dialogue to shape the priorities for public health action to accelerate digital health in the WHO European Region, and to gather further input towards the development of a European vision and roadmap for the digitalization of national health systems.

The Symposium will take place over two and a half days and serve as an opportunity for participants to explore, identify and understand:

• digital health and emerging innovations being used to strengthen national health systems, and WHO’s role in supporting countries to achieve success in digital health;
• key activities in digital health that countries in the Region are actively working on; and
• digital technologies empowering individuals, supporting health-care workers and contributing to key national health policy objectives.

The Symposium will be composed of plenary sessions exploring topics relevant to digital health. Focused parallel sessions will further identify enablers, challenges and gaps in the digitalization of health systems and health-care delivery, as well as propose tangible actions for accelerating progress in adopting digital health for achieving public health priorities.

Participation is by invitation. The working language of the Symposium will be English and Russian, with a number of parallel sessions in one or both languages.

The Symposium will, to the greatest extent possible, be paper-free. As such, the Symposium agenda, speaker details and relevant documents will be made available to participants digitally via a dedicated conference app and websites supporting the event.
