Founding Board Member, Young Leaders for Health
Tanya Herfurth is a young global health enthusiast. She is a founding board member of Young Leaders for Health (YLH), a nonprofit organization wishing to nurture the next generation of leaders in public and global health. She is of the opinion that interdisciplinary work has huge potential for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. With this in mind, she co-created the YLH Social Entrepreneurship Challenge on eHealth to empower students and young professionals by giving them the platform and the means to launch a sustainable project in the realm of digital health systems.
In addition to managing YLH, Herfurth works at the headquarters of the German Red Cross in the Disaster, Risk Management and Civil Protection Department, where her focus is on strengthening resilience. She has a background in medicine and political science, and is currently specializing in international political economy.
