Kassaye Yitbarek Yigzaw
Bio
Kassaye Yitbarek Yigzaw was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 1986. He received a BSc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Hawassa University, Hawassa, Ethiopia, in 2008. He received an MSc. degree in Telemedicine and e-health and a PhD degree in computer science from UiT The Arctic University of Tromsø, Tromsø, Norway, in 2012 and 2017, respectively.
From 2008 to 2010, he was an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Haramaya University, Haramaya, Ethiopia. In 2012 he was a Software Developer for the WHO Instant Atlas project with the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine. In 2013 he was a visiting researcher with the TSB (Technologies for Health and Well-Being), ITACA, Polytechnic University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain. In 2016, he worked as a Researcher and Scientific Software Developer with the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research. He was a PostDoctoral research fellow (2017 - 2018) and a researcher (2018 - 2020) at the Norwegian Centre for E-health Researcher. Since 2020, he has been a senior researcher at the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research.
Mr. Yigzaw's research interests include e-health, audit and feedback, health data reuse, distributed statistical computation, machine learning, federated learning, record linkage, security, and privacy.
