Kassaye Yitbarek Yigzaw
Kassaye Yitbarek Yigzaw was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 1986. He received the BSc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Hawassa University, Hawassa, Ethiopia, in 2008. He received MSc. degree in Telemedicine and e-health and PhD degree in computer science from UiT The Arctic University of Tromsø, Tromsø, Norway, in 2012 and 2017, respectively.
From 2008 to 2010, he was an Assistant Lecturer with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Haramaya University, Haramaya, Ethiopia. He was a Technical Intern of Extreme Blue Internship with the IBM, Nice, France, in 2011. In 2012 he was a Software Developer for the WHO instant atlas project with the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine. In 2013 he was a visiting researcher with the TSB (Technologies for Health and Well-Being), ITACA, Polytechnic University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain. in 2016, he worked as a Researcher and Scientific Software Developer with the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research. Since January 2017, he is working as a PostDoctoral researcher at the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research.
Mr. Yigzaw research interests include e-health, disease surveillance, health data reuse, security, privacy preserving distributed statistical computation and data mining, and privacy-preserving record linkage.
