After nine years as head of the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research, Stein Olav Skrøvseth has decided to step down.

Initially, he will take educational leave and work as a consultant for the World Health Organisation (WHO).
- ‘It's been a fantastic few years! The expertise of the centre's employees is extremely valuable and in demand - there's no doubt about that! We have put ourselves on the map and are recognised as a research player and partner,’ says Skrøvseth.
Skrøvseth started working at the centre as a researcher in statistics in 2009. In 2013-2014, he spent time at IBM in New York, where he learnt a great deal about artificial intelligence, among other things. And when the centre was established as a national research centre in 2016, it was with Skrøvseth at the helm.
- ‘I've said many times that I have the best job in Tromsø - and I still think so. But after a long period of restructuring, I've decided that it's time to bring in new talent to the top management of the centre,’ Skrøvseth concludes.
