Webinar: Using AI to train emergency call operators
How can AI be used to provide the best possible training for emergency call operators? This was the topic of the webinar on 23 May, where we heard about how language models can be used to simulate callers.
Emergency call operators assist people in acute and time-critical situations. It is difficult to find good and scalable training - especially in how to deal with strong emotions. Somsagt AS wants to use artificial intelligence as a tool for this.
Using language models, they are now developing their own virtual callers to 113. We hear about the challenges of training people to communicate and the problems of training language models to simulate intense conversations, where emotions and empathy are particularly important.
In the long term, the experience of training on emergency call operators will be used to create similar training for other occupational groups that encounter anger, fear, irritation, frustration or dissatisfaction as part of their everyday work.
Presentation by Bård Fossli Jensen, physicaian, specialist in pediatrics, PhD, Somsagt AS and Alexander Vaagan, Chief Data Scientist, Crayon Consulting.
