Webinar: How to use synthetic patient data to develop secure AI solutions
How can synthetic patient data contribute to the development of artificial intelligence in healthcare, while ensuring privacy and patient safety? This was the topic of the webinar on 12 September.
This webinar focused on how generative AI models can be used to create synthetic health data, and the role these can play in the development and testing of AI tools for patient treatment. We took a closer look at legal and ethical frameworks, as well as the risk of identification and bias in the data set.
The webinar is based on the latest research in a collaboration between DNV, the Cancer Registry/FHI and the EU project SYNTHIA, and provides insight into how synthetic data can be used as a tool for innovation and research, while discussing what is reasonable and acceptable from a societal perspective.
Presentation by Vibeke Binz Vallevik, civil engineer and PhD fellow at the University of Oslo and senior researcher at the health research programme at DNV.
