Young people need safe, reliable information about psychotropic drugs
The Norwegian Centre for E-health Research is proud to be a partner in the YoungPsyMedInfo project.
This is a research project that will develop a digital tool for safer guidance in pharmacies, in collaboration with young people, pharmacists and key stakeholders in the pharmacy sector.

The aim is to make it easier for young people to access better information and follow-up.
“Our centre contributes expertise in the development of digital tools, e-health in the fields of mental health and young people, as well as PhD supervision,” says Professor Terje Solvoll of the Department of Technology and Artificial Intelligence at the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research.
Young people who use psychotropic medication often find that the information they receive is fragmented and difficult to apply in everyday life. Researchers at Nord University and their partners will now develop a digital tool for use in pharmacies to make it easier to receive accurate and safe guidance.
The project is a four-year doctoral research project starting in autumn 2026.
Broad collaboration
“YoungPsyMedInfo combines registry data, interviews and co-creation to develop a tool that responds to the needs of young people,” says project lead Ivana Bojanic at Nord University.
The project collaborates with the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research, the Norwegian Pharmacy Association, Apokus, Norsk Medisinaldepot (NMD), RELIS Northern Norway, Norwegian community and hospital pharmacies, clinical psychiatrists, and youth representatives from Mental Health Youth (Mental Helse Ungdom).
