Approximately one in six people of reproductive age experience infertility, and the World Health Organization estimates that these numbers are increasing. Around 40 percent of fertility challenges affect men, yet current methods for selecting high-quality sperm cells are often costly and inefficient.

Researchers at UiT The Arctic University of Norway and the University Hospital of North Norway (UNN) have developed Spermotile – an automated, AI-driven platform designed to identify and select sperm cells of the highest quality for use in assisted reproduction. The project has recently received NOK 29 million in funding from the EU’s research and innovation programme Horizon Europe and is considered world-leading within its field.

In this webinar, you will learn how the project applies artificial intelligence in practice, building on clinical decision-support tools already used by healthcare professionals.
