Kompetanseområder og temasatsinger

Instituttet forsker blant annet på

  • hvordan e-helse kan bidra til å gjøre folk i stand til å ta bedre vare på sin egen helse og leve mer selvstendige liv.
  • sosiale ulikheter i tilgangen til e-helse.
  • hvordan IKT påvirker samhandling mellom pasient og helsearbeider.
  • hvordan IKT påvirker utdanning og videreutdanning av helsepersonell.

Visjon, strategier og mål

IHO skal gjennom sin samlede forsknings-, utviklings- og utdanningsaktivitet bidra til å videreutvikle helse- og omsorgstjenester av høy faglig kvalitet for den nordnorske befolkningen.

Instituttet ser på e-helse som en integrert del av det å være en sentral aktør innen forskning og utdanning for helse og omsorg.
