The Norwegian Centre for E-health Research is funded through a framework appropriation from the Ministry of Health and Care Services, the Northern Norway Regional Health Authority and external funding of projects, for example from the EU and the Research Council of Norway. The project portfolio generated from competitive funding will support the centre's national mission.

The total budget in 2023 was NOK 98.6 million. NOK 47.4 million came from the Ministry of Health and Care Services, NOK 4.7 million from the Northern Norway Regional Health Authority, NOK 1.2 million from assignment allocations, while NOK 45.3 million from competitive funding.

In 2023, 77.5 full-time equivalents (91 people) were budgeted.
