CADMOS - Connecting Children and Adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes in Rural Areas

Description

The CADMOS project attempts to, with the help of serious games, teach children between 8 and 12 years old with type 1 diabetes to deal with and tackle their disease in an optimal manner.

We hope to create a game that is engaging and fun to play, where they can experiment with treatment of their disease inside comfortable environments with virtual characters instead of themselves.

We also hope to get a synergistic interaction with other diabetes related self-help tools that are already being used by children in the target audience. Furthermore we want the friends and relatives of the children to participate in the game, giving them a better understanding of what it means to live with type 1 diabetes.

Goals

To develop one or more games to help kids in the age of 8-12 years in rural areas cope with their diabetes.

Method

Explorative study within the frames of a PhD.
