Members of the do-it-yourself (DIY) community have diabetes, or have family members with the ailment. They experience the day-to-day grind of dealing with it and aren’t afraid to tweak the technology to meet their needs.

“People are able to connect online and share innovations in both software and hardware, as well as new ways of using ordinary equipment. That is a really powerful thing,” says Eirik in the news article.
