On February 6-8, our centre will co-host a digital health symposium in Copenhagen, together with WHO/Europe.

WHO Symposium on the Future of Digital Health Systems in the European Region
WHO Symposium on the Future of Digital Health Systems in the European Region

The WHO Symposium on the Future of Digital Health Systems in the European Region will bring together evidence and experience to show how governments and organizations can adopt digital health to reduce inequalities and improve the health and well-being of populations.

The Symposium will help policy-makers prepare for the digitalization of health systems by sharing country experiences of:

  • how digital health and emerging innovations are being used to strengthen national health systems
  • digital health activities currently underway
  • how digital technologies can empower individuals and health-care workers.

In this video, Director Stein Olav Skrøvseth at the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research gives some more information:

The aim of the Symposium is to develop priorities for public health action to support the adoption of digital health in WHO Member States, and to contribute to the development of a European vision and roadmap for the digitalization of national health systems.

Participation

The Symposium will take place at UN City in Copenhagen, Denmark. WHO/Europe is delivering the Symposium together with the WHO Collaborating Centre for Digital Health and Telemedicine (Norwegian Centre for E-health Research).

The event will incorporate a series of plenary and parallel sessions to present topics and ideas of relevance to digital health, as well as focused interactive discussions to identify enablers, challenges and gaps in the digitalization of health systems and health-care delivery.

It will propose tangible actions for accelerating progress in adopting digital health for achieving public health priorities.
