Feeling safe after leaving the hospital

In the hospital, you as a patient have a knowledgeable safety net of healthcare professionals. Back at home after treatment, many can feel unsafe and lack support. Digital home monitoring can fill this gap and improve your quality of life.

Feeling safe after leaving the hospital
Anne Marie Lunde Husebø and Hege Bjøkne Wathne share their finds from a study about digital remote care.

Presenation of current results from the research project eHealth @ Hospital-2-Home with professor Anne Marie Lunde Husebø and PhD student Hege Bjøkne Wathne at the University of Stavanger.

The project compares a group of patients with heart failure and bowel cancer who receive digital home follow-up from the hospital with a control group. What these diseases have in common is a need for self-care support and increased knowledge about the disease and treatment. The project examines communication between the hospital and the patient, as well as how digital home follow-up can help to improve the patient's quality of life and reduce re-admissions to hospital.
