International Reference Cases for the Use of Health Data

Description

The project will conduct a survey of international reference cases for the use of health data for secondary purposes, such as quality improvement, health monitoring, planning, management and research. The survey will support the work on recommendations for reference architecture and common technical solutions for the national health registries.

The task is divided into two phases:

  • Phase 1: A preliminary study focusing on identifying relevant countries/organisations and factors to be surveyed. Provides a basis for a comparative framework for study and comparison across countries/organisations and with Norway as a reference.
  • Phase 2: Conduct a study and analyse the results in the light of relevance to Norwegian initiatives. The study can be based on Internet-based search and queries in key research and knowledge environments, as well as relevant international cooperation forums at government level, in order to identify relevant documentation and contact persons for further investigation.

Goals

The project will provide an overview and analysis of a selection of leading and comparable countries/regions/organisations, which provides a good basis for the foundation and proposal of a long-term vision, roadmap and reference architecture for the development and adaptation of health registry data in Norway.
