Alenka Kolar

Director General, Directorate for Digitization in Healthcare, Slovenia

After graduating from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (1993) and obtaining a Master's degree from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (1998), she obtained her PhD from the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics in 2006. In her professional career, she managed the Metrology Laboratory at the Metrology Office, worked in the automotive industry in the field of quality assurance, worked first in the project office and then as a user solution development manager at energy transmission operator in 1999, learned quality and traceability in pharmaceutical company, worked in a private IT development company, and in 2014 joined energy distribution company as the Executive Director of ICT. In May 2022, she became Head of IT at the Ljubljana Institute of Oncology and in July 2022, at the invitation of the Minister of Health, she took over the Directorate for Digitization in Healthcare as Director General.

Alenka has been a member of the Board of the University Medical Centre Ljubljana,

As she works in a project-oriented way in ICT, she obtained the international PMP certification in 2010.
