Communications Advisor, The Lancet

Siân trained as a classical singer and received a bachelor’s degree in music before a prolonged period of illness turned her attention to health and medicine. Joining The Lancet during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Siân led the journal’s communications via social and digital media and now manages comms around key projects, including Lancet Series and Commissions, thought leadership activities, and the organisation’s efforts to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion. In March and July 2023, Siân was invited to meetings of communications experts by WHO Europe as part of the Evidence into Action Alcohol Project (EVID-ACTION) to bring scientific evidence to promote and support the implementation of effective alcohol policies for the communities of the EU, Iceland, Norway, and Ukraine.
