Lead Health Tech Community and Stakeholder Relations, Basel Area Business & Innovation and HIMSS Changemaker in Health Award Winner 2023

Anca del Rio is a purpose-driven health economist and thought leader in digital public health strategy and innovation governance. She holds an international Master of Science in Public Health and Healthcare Management (MSPH) and is pursuing a doctoral degree (DrPH). Anca graduated the joint EIT Health Stanford Biodesign Fellowship in need-led innovation from the University of Oxford and IESE Business School and holds several certifications in Health Systems Innovation and Health Strategy from the Harvard Business School and Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

Throughout her global career across Europe, the U.S., Israel, and Australia, Anca wore several executive, advisory, strategic, and operational hats in private and public health institutions including various health systems, healthcare delivery organisations, PPPs, and health tech startups. Her bold contributions to advance the meaningful adoption of innovation for quality of care, patient safety, improved access and patient experience, and health systems’ effectiveness represent the highest standards of healthcare leadership whereas her actions to repurpose health technology for public good and social impact propel equitable and inclusive agendas for the attainment of the SDG3. Currently, she is on a mission to make a difference at scale and globally innovate the future of health by building the largest multistakeholder community for healthcare innovation from the heart of the life sciences ecosystem, Basel, Switzerland, where it all began centuries ago.
