Fernando Araújo, is a medical doctor specialized in Immuno-haemotherapy. He has a PhD Medicine and postgraduate in Management, at the Catholic University of Porto. He is Professor in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. In addition to his medical and teaching activities, during his professional career he has held various responsibilities in health management and governance, including President of the Management Board at São João University Hospital Centre (2019-2022), President of the Executive Board of the Northern Regional Health Administration (ARS Norte), between 2009 and 2011 and his term as Deputy Secretary of State and Health (2015-2018). He is currently Executive Director (CEO) of the National Health Service (NHS).
