Guidelines and guardrails for AI in healthcare

High-quality data is the first step towards successful use of artificial intelligence in healthcare. What exactly do we mean by high-quality data and how do we get there?

Webinar: Guidelines and guardrails for AI in healthcare
Shauna Overgaard develops rigorous standards for artificial intelligence in healthcare.

Our AI systems and the data they are based on need to meet strict standards for quality, equity, integrity, and diversity. In order to do this, we need guidelines for assessment and quality management. We also need guardrails to keep us from making serious errors.

Mayo Clinic is a member of the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) and is driven by its mission to prioritize patients' needs. CHAI and Mayo Clinic believe that AI systems must be reliable, fair, and transparent. Along with the other members of CHAI, they are working to develop guidelines and guardrails for the entire AI life cycle. During this webinar, Mayo Clinic will be showcased as an example of how high-quality healthcare can be achieved by using AI.
