Taridzo Chomutare
Bio
Taridzo earned his PhD in Computer Science from UiT in 2014, following a master’s degree in Telemedicine and eHealth (2008).
His research sits at the intersection of computer science, artificial intelligence, and healthcare, with a particular focus on digital health, clinical text analytics, and the implementation of AI in real-world healthcare settings. He has extensive experience leading and managing nationally and internationally funded eHealth projects, including large collaborative initiatives on clinical coding, federated health data networks, and AI-supported health services.
Earlier in his career, his work focused on mobile health and telemedicine interventions for chronic conditions, particularly type 2 diabetes, including the development and evaluation of mobile applications and group-based digital self-management programmes. This experience continues to inform his current work on participatory health, technology adoption, and sustainable digital health solutions.
Dr. Chomutare has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and serves on editorial boards and scientific committees for international journals and conferences in medical informatics and digital health. Alongside his research, he is actively involved in teaching, supervision, and mentorship, and contributes to building capacity in eHealth research and innovation in Norway and internationally.
