Kassaye Yitbarek Yigzaw

Bio

Kassaye Yitbarek Yigzaw ble født i Addis Abeba i Etiopia, i 1986. Han tok bachelorgrad i elektroteknikk ved Hawassa University i Hawassa i Etiopia i 2008. Han tok mastergrad i telemedisin og e-helse i 2012 og doktorgrad i informatikk i 2017 ved UiT Norges arktiske universitet.

Fra 2008 til 2010, var han assisterende foreleser ved Institutt for data- og elektroteknikk ved Haramaya University i Haramaya i Etiopia. Han fikk en teknisk praktikantstilling hos IBM i Nice i Frankrike i 2011, gjennom IBM-ordningen Extreme Blue Internship. I 2012 jobbet han som programvareutvikler for WHOs Instant atlas-prosjekt ved Nasjonalt senter for samhandling og telemedisin. I 2013 tilbrakte han tre måneder som gjesteforsker ved TSB (Teknologier for helse og velvære), ITACA, Polytechnic University of Valencia i Spania. I 2016 jobbet han som forsker og vitenskapelig programvareutvikler ved Nasjonalt senter for e-helseforskning. Mellom januar 2017 og 2018 har han jobbet som postdoktorstipendiat ved Nasjonalt senter for e-helseforskning.

Kassaye Yigzaws forskningsinteresser omfatter e-helse, sykdomsovervåking, gjenbruk av helsedata, sikkerhet, distribuert statistisk beregning og personvernbeskyttende datautvinning samt personvernbeskyttende metoder for kobling til journaldata.
