Monika Johansen

Bio

Monika Johansen, head of the department for Digital Health Services, and senior researcher at NSE. She started to work at NST, the center NSE was built upon, in March 1995. In her work at NST/NSE, she has managed researchers for more than 20 years. Monika has also been a project manager for national and international projects. She was a driving force behind several strategy and quality assurance processes.

In 1991, Monika completed a Cand. Scient degree in Computer Science, and, in 2013, received her Ph.D. in Telemedicine and e-Health, at the University of Tromsø. Since 2014, she has been an Associate Professor at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. In addition to her academic education, Monika has completed several courses in leadership and project management.

In her free time, Monika likes to read a good book and go for a walk in the woods, maybe to pick berries and mushrooms. She loves being on the ocean, especially when there are fish to catch.
